Recognition to former Pres. Aquino

A momentous occasion commemorating the 5th Anniversary of Cory Aquino’s endorsement of Fidel V. Ramos for President in 1992.

Former President Ramos (FVR) having just returned from Jolo, was able to take time to witness & pay tribute to our icon of Democracy, Cory Aquino, despite his hectic schedule.

The purpose of the gathering, which was conceived, organized and hosted by EDSA veteran Christopher L. Carrion was to give due credit and recognition to Former President Aquino for having endorsed and supported FVR as her candidate in 1992, against tremendous pressures from her closest of friends, relatives and various influential political sectors. It is noteworthy to recall that two years into the Presidency of FVR, when serious problems continued to beset the country, some people continued to criticize her for having endorsed FVR. On the other hand, shortly after FVR was able to turn around the economy basking in the glory of being called the new economic tiger of Asia, people also forgot to credit former President Aquino's previous statesman-like choice of her successor.
